Hi Frank!
Attached are photos of my ho scale slot car track, the best minimum I could
manage was three photos to show the whole layout: Also included are some
detail shots that show off the interesting props or mods. Here is a description of layout
I planned this layout to be multi-level to creatre something visually
entertaining! Entertainment was a bigger role in this layout than realism
(obviuosly!) The track spans 3 different tables with the most elaborate
being the middle which has a tri-level track layout.
I used PVC pipe extensively in the construction of bridges, ramps and
trestles because it is cheap, easy to work with and looks great when
painted. It was perfect for the construction of the "Firewall" wall ramp, it
almost makes this track section believable!
The spiral tower which allows the first tables layout to drop down sveral
feet to the middle tables layout was painstakingly hot-glue-gunned together.
It's fun to watch the cars cork-skrew down this section.
The track uses two hairpin turns to allow the use of swithbacks, which
allowed a steep tri-level layout that takes up little room. The track is all
AFX except for the single loops by Tyco. (used LifeLike adaptor track to
join).
Thank You for consideration in your contest!
