Here are some photos of my home layout. SCW has provided nearly all of the
components and many of the 100+ cars. As you know the track is 1/24 Carrera
with a Trackmate Race System. A laptop and a second monitor provide race
information to the racers. A modified Scalex pacer unit has been installed and used
to hone my race skills. Power is supplied by an old Lionel HO power supply,
plenty of juice on hand. Various controllers are used depending on the racers age
and ability. Cords made from phone cable and trailer harnesses allow racers to
move around freely and chane controllers easily. Buildings will be detailed in the
next 10 years. My wife will be painting the people before 1/1/02. The blue background
simulates the sky but is actually a floor underlayment with small styrofoam
beads, glued to the wall, that help lessen the impact of cars that skid off the track.
The fences are rubber screening and alumium flat stock holding brackets. They
keep the cars off the concrete basement floor. We are enjoying the layout as often as possible.
