I have put in lots of hours working on the family layout. All buildings.mountains were scratch built by myself and my 11and 7 y/o sons from plywood ,casting plaster ,.plexiglass with trees, etc.from our local hobby shop. The track is mostly Scalextric with a few pieces of Ninco mainly for the Pole Position laps counters and outer turns. The inside track length is right at 96' with the outside a little longer at around 101'. All of the standard guard rail on the turns have been replaced with what we like to call The Ramsey Retaining System with a few pieces of standard in the straightaways. Most of it is clear with a few pieces of woodgrain here and there. The track is lighted with more lights on the way as soon as the budget allows we have an 027 gauge train layout that runs through the slot car track. We have 60 cars I like that, so we can race a lot of different classes. We have done a lot of landscaping. the longest Mountain is Mt Earndthart with an elevation of 3. We also have a great bass fishing lake Lake Pamela,she is a friend that does the caligaphy for the signs.
