I would like to enter my hand routed track in your contest. I built the
track from scratch entirely by myself with much technical advise from other
amateur and professional builders that I became acquainted with over the
internet. The project took about seven months of nights and weekends to
complete. The layout's footprint is approximately 15.5 feet by 12.5 feet.
Other technical details are described below.
* Modular design - track sections are bolted together so that the
layout can be moved or stored easily
* 4 lanes with approximately 60 running feet/lane
* Track surface - 1/2 inch MDF brushed with two part black epoxy paint
* Hand routed using elliptical routing technique
* Lane spacing - 4 inches.
* Gutters vary from 3 to 6 inches
* Track width 22 inches
* Magnatech braid (works well with traction magnets)
* 12 Volt, 30 amp DC power supply
