The figures are sold in a bare metal, without adornment.
Before painting, they should be cleaned of all unwanted metal flash,
the base, if a standing figure, should be leveled by either
sandpapering or using a modeler's knife to scrape the bottom of the base.
Once cleaned, the figure should be mounted (lighlty glued)
to a suitable painting stick - popsicle or tongue depressor.
When dired, the figure is now ready to be primed.
Use an automotive gray primer.Paints. We have found
that a water-based acrylic paint found
in places like Hobby Lobby or Michael's works the best for the price.
Once the primer is dried, paint the arear's of the figure which
would be consideder as "flesh" - arms, faces, legs, etc.
Paint the figures as if you were dressing it - from the skin out.
Shirt/jacket and trousers come next. Then soxs and shoes, purses,
cups, cameras, etc. Paint any headgear or hair. Finally paint any watches,
sunglasses, etc. Let the figures air dry overnight
and over coat (spray) them with a clear flat spray.
1/32 scale slot car figures are cast in a white metal - pewter.
