Bruce Thomas,Tasmania,Australia
Hello Frank,
Please find enclosed pictures of my car for the contest.
The slot car depicted is the ex-works IMSA Chevrolet Monza as
raced in Australia and New Zealand by Allan Moffat in the mid-late-70's.
It started life as a standard injection moulded Buick Skyhawk model
(make unknown) which has been extensively modified. The full IMSA body
kit has been added including front and rear box guards, rear spoiler,
front air dam and hood scoop using a combination of plastic card and Milli Putt.
The nose has been re-profiled and the upper radiator intake altered using Milli Putt.
Mufflers, as required for Australian racing, are from a 1:24 model kit.
Wheels are from a Fly Capri and the chassis is a narrowed SCX IMSA
Audi which has been converted to two wheel drive and an independent front end.
The motor is an SCX Pro Turbo and the decals are by Bruce Patterson in Australia.
Interior is custom made using various parts from different donor slot cars and plastic card.
