The D-type Jaguar is a Strombecker body and frame, detail painted to match Mike Hawthorn's 1955 LeMans entry, 1960's Scalextric Dunlop wheels and tires (Silicone copies on the rear) with Bare Metal Foil knockoffs, 3/32 piano wire axles riding in brass axle tubes, powered by a Buzco "Red Bomb" motor with a 7 tooth pinion and a 27 tooth Cox Crown gear.

11.Tom Ziemba,South Elgin, IL,freshly restored Cox Mag frame 2E.

12.Joseph Fialka, Davison, MI ,This 917 is my first attempt at building a slot car from a kit. I used the Airfix 917 kit with a fly Porsche 908 chassis. The car runs great and laps the track in typical times for a fly car. The white around the right headlight is the white glue under the lens. It's still wet !! When dry it will be almost invisible.

I know this entry is just for fun since I already have a car entered but thought you might enjoy these 917-10s.The bodies are Macthbox static models with a highly modified Scalextric 962 chassis under each. These two models are my second and third kit bashedslot cars. I removed the Scalextric blades and replaced them with Proslot blades.

13.Mike Sells,Here is my entry in your slot car conversion contest. This is a NINCO Porsche GT1 converted to the
ROHR IMSA championship car by reducing Recambi 1/24 scale markings to 1/32 using a color copier and
Microscale decal films. Additional details were added front and rear, including tow loops and exhausts.

14.Scott Jefferson, Seattle, WA ,where I am a founding member of the PSSRA(Puget Sound
Slot Racing Assoc.).Here I have a 1997 Scalextric 1/32 Ford T-Bird, which
I've re-liveried as Ricky Rudd's Tide-Ride. The only bit of paint used was in striping the wheels.
Everything else is 3M vinyl material(save for the tiny Ford and cluster decals. No kits were used. The body
colors were stretched and seamed strategically, while the number and lettering graphics were custom created,
die-cut, and layered.

16.Jason Calhoon,A Scalextric indycar gets a new life as Jimmy Vasser's Target Honda. Created by "the Jasonator", a founding member of the Puget Sound Slot Racing Assoc.(PSSRA) in Seattle, WA. This car has home made decals from my friend Hack, a detailed driver and helmet done as Jimmy Vasser, chrome wheels from another Scalextric car, and vinyl tape hand trimmed for the #'s and lightning bolt.

17.Mike Zimmerman,Florissant, MO,1/32 Eldon 1965 Dodge Pickup with 1/32 Revell alum. "ladder" chassis & Revell gray can motor featuring 1/32 MDC mags and 1/32 Monogram tires. Not a big project but, fairly simple.Body was brand new from ebay and was polished and detailed.

18.Philip Thicthener,Mackay,Queensland,Australia,Cox BRM 1/24 scale in the contest cars
comp please. Before and after shot of the car .

19.Rick D'Antonio,Malvern,Pa. My entry is based on a 1/32 Monogram (reissue of an Aurora/K&B) 1965 Mustang.
I converted it to a Shelby GT 350R. It features resin cast "R" model front valance, side louver block off plates,65 Shelby style grille, GT 350 style
side scoops. The interior insert is resin cast from an original K&B interior, with roll bar added. Driver's head is an Eldon. The chassis is from a 1/32
Artin Porsche, and has a Slot-it V12 motor and magnet. The MRRC wheels are repainted and detailed with wide rear Goodyear blue streaks from a Fly 512.

20.Stephen Yagello ,Sebring, OH. Revell 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO from original '64 kit.Scratchbuilt .025 brass chassis,DuBro repro motor/axle assy.,Plafit FOX motor, Parma tires & guide flag. Fender flares added , rocker panels lowered, wire wheel inserts with knock-offs from kit.

21.Bruce Thomas,Glenorchy,Tasmania,Australia The car depicts the 1970 Le Mans winner and was built from an Airfix 1:32 plastic kit. It uses a SCX Porsche GT2 chassis, SCX SRS2 motor,Fly wheels and tyres, Scalextric driver and decals by Patto's Place (Sydney Aust). It has complete rear end detail which has not yet succumbed to destruction!

22.Ken Marx,Revell-Monogram 1/25 1969 Shelby Cobra GT-500 Model Kit modified for slotcar use. It has a Dynamic inline chassis with Candies Silicone tires on the rear. The car is powered by a K&B Royal Bobcat 36D motor. I mounted the car on the chassis using body mounts from REH and detailed the body withTestors paints and Bare-Metal for the chrome trim. I am afraid to run this car on my 1/24 Carrera layout since it is so nice looking but I gave it a try and it's fast!

23.Joel The car is a Ferrari 712 can am, made from a kit by Otaki of Japan, the box says 1/28th scale but the model measures as 1/32nd (the car in the box is not the same as the one shown on the lid either). Like many japanese kits of the period the kit was originaly motorized, the motor as been replaced by a Ninco NC1, pick up is a Scalextric. A simple conversion of an unusual subject.

24. Emilie Dederich ,I am 16,she just passed her real drivers test and has been unleashed upon the highways and byways of the world.
The car is a chapparal 2d.the premier and only race for this version was the
1966 daytona continental 24 hr race in which it crashed.the drivers were phil hill and jo bonnier.
this was the only race in which the foot operated flipperappeared.this car has a 1/24 body from a monogram model kit.
parma 4 in chassis.parma tires.parma super d motor.3.4 to 1 gear ratio.
counter weighted actuating rear flipper feathersduring high speed and air breaks at low speeds.
this car handles and races pretty well.

25.Chris Monks,Camp Dennison,OH. 1975 Ferrari 312T converted from the Scalextric Recaro Grand Prix car.
The body was dismantled and painted in the Ferrari colors of 1975. After applying decals, clear varnish was applied to protect everything. Note
for purists who know drivers' helmets: this is Niki Lauda driving Clay Regazzoni's car during practice!

38.Ernie,Gibraltar, Lamborghini Diablo. Built from scratch using Revell 1:32 static kit.Original kit?s chassis adapted to take an inline mid- mounted Cartrix 17.000-rpm motor (on a motor mount) for stability, which was mated, to a rear axle holder to form the
basis of the car. Front axle is a modified rear axle holder (just the bearing holders) and the screw holder from the axle mount was modified and used as a guide blade holder.Wheels are Cartrix chrome items. Rear Tyres are Cartrix semi-vulcanised and fronts are Pink-Car low profile.Interior was adapted and re-sized to fit it with the in-line motor but still use the cars original interior and a full size driver.Body shell was primed, airbrushed with 3 coats of gloss black and finally a clear varnish was applied for protection.

39.Mike Neuner,Camillus, N.Y,I'm a racer from the 60's. I loved to see the Cox Ford GT, Chaparral, & Lotus 30/40 running on our club tracks.
I was only sorry that Cox did not produce a Ferrari Sports Car prior to theDino. That did not stop me. I still feel that the Monogram Ferrari 275P in 1/24 scale is one of the most beautiful sports cars ever produced.I took the wheels & tires form a Cox Ferrari GP car. and added them to a Cox
Sidewinder chassis. I the took the ferrari body and the full Monogram interior and modified it to fit the Cox chassis and then dropped a Cox
Chaparral driver into the interior. The looks of the Monogram Ferrari and the performance of the Cox running gear.

GREAT CARS ALSO
40.Michael Posey West Lafayette Indiana,I realize I am late in this entry but here is one of my machines. This
started out life as a 1/25th topfuel dragster kit of Christen Powell's Royal Purple car.The front half of the car retains the original plastic
frame, the rear section (from the drivers seat) has been redone out of brass tube for strenth. The motor is a Parma S16D (hidden under the kit
engine that has been cut in half) and uses Cox gearing on a 1/8th in axel. The car runs a consistant 2.2 in the scale 1/4th mile.

41.Bill Giggie,Mississauga Canada, Here's my entry for the car contest. Its a 1/24th Monogram Ferrari 275P from the recent model kit reissue. It is mounted on a brass chassis of unknown origin but goes like stink. I have to take it easy though because I don't want to break the thing.Posed on my HO layout since my 32nd scale track is in boxes at the moment.
